After 23 years in active addiction you would think that I wasted over half of my life but when we learn from very difficult lessons we are rewarded with all the education that comes with the experience. Today I am grateful for all of the difficulties that I faced because it allows me to share about addiction from a place of lived experience, so people can relate to the information as I am just a regular human like everyone else.

80% of homes today are experiencing Mental Health or Addiction in their immediate or extended families...80%.

In this episode we will discuss how someone arrives at becoming addicted so we can learn the language we can use to communicate with them. We will discuss the many variations of addiction such as attachments to drugs, alcohol and social media and what they all have in common.

I will offer you tools to use in your life that will empower you with an awareness so you can see how you can best help an addict. I know the level of difficulty that is involved with carrying the emotional weight of someone we love's experience but I want you to learn that it is not yours to carry. By learning that we are not alone in this life we can begin to heal in our own lives to become an example for those that we love to navigate back to the light.

.01% of people come out of the life that I lived for 23 years so I am here for a reason. I found my purpose through my difficulties and I know I am here to help others see their true potential within theirs.

For the Mothers, Fathers, Grandparents, Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and loved ones who walk with addiction even though you are not addicted yourself, I see you and I love you. Thank you for being so strong and remember, being an example of strength is something you're already doing everyday and one day, that will be appreciated.
