What you need to know about nOH, a condition that impacts patients who have underlying neurologic conditions.

Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension or nOH is a condition in which the body experiences a sudden and dangerous drop in blood pressure when changing position (laying down to sitting or sitting to standing). For people with nOH, standing up can be a moment of uncertainty. nOH impacts patients that have underlying neurologic conditions like Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy, or pure autonomic failure.

Dr. Daniel Claassen, Associate Professor of Neurology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee educates us on nOH, from recognizing symptoms, how to manage your condition, and empowering patients and care providers to speak to their doctor. For Leon, nOH drastically affected his life with his wife Lorraine.

Five years ago, they were enjoying their life traveling the world and settling into retirement life when Leon was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and nOH…at the same time. Learn more about their journey from diagnosis to management of his nOH.
