This flight was chartered for the 71st Reunion of Honor on Iwo Jima, an annual event held on the island in recognition of the Battle of Iwo Jima in WWII. The charter was organized by Military Historical Tours and the Iwo Jima Association of America. There are no other commercial flights to Iwo Jima Air Base as it remains an active defense installation. The island's famous black sand beach and Mt. Suribachi are visible.

I dedicate this video to my late grandfather who served as a radar operator in the United States Navy during this battle.
