Onboard a United Boeing 757300 for a cross country flight from Chicago to Los Angeles. Honestly my experience with United was plagued with issues from start to finish, from the moment I'd booked the flight. I had booked the flight as part of a connection through Lufthansa and was unable to book my seat on the flight. So I had to create an account with United themselves and book my required window seat, which I did for $14. Only to find that on the day of the flight when I checked in I was now at an aisle seat and had no option of moving. So essentially paid the $14 for nothing. The excuse on twitter was an aircraft swap. Which is rubbish, it had been a 757300 since I booked it and it was indeed a 757300 on the day.
Once onboard I managed to get to the row before any of the other passengers and appropriately sat myself by the window, luckily for me the guy was happy with the trade for the aisle seat which I was in. So all was good. When we were airborne an extremely strong jetstream against us meant we cruised below it at 24,000ft for the first 2 hours or more, before climbing later to 32,000ft. Over the Nevada Canyons and descending over the California hills into LAX just as the sun was setting. Some pretty beautiful views along the way.
One thing that was good on this United flight was the free WiFi and complimentary soft drinks.
I didn't film any of the boarding sequence because I wasn't expecting a window seat so wasn't expecting to be making a video of this flight after all.
