Founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1740, the University of Pennsylvania has established itself as one of the most prestigious universities in the world due to its renowned academics and research, Ivy League athletic programs, and countless extracurricular opportunities. The university boasts numerous undergraduate and graduate schools including the Perelman School of Medicine – the oldest in the country – the Wharton School, the Law School, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and others.
