Thanks to their airindependent propulsion systems, these submarines stay under water for much longer and continue their operations with low noise levels.

In addition, Turkey is working on new projects such as the STM500, which is completely domestic and designed by STM, and the LSUB 33, designed by the Dearsan shipyard, in addition to the Reis class submarines. These projects attract attention with their capacity to operate in smaller and shallower waters.
