Airbus once considered releasing an A322, a stretch on its existing A321, as part of plans to enhance its narrowbody singleaisle line. However, after much pushing and feedback, it was deemed that an A322 equipped with nextgeneration wings wasn't suitable at this point, and building the aircraft hasn't occurred; instead, the focus has remained on the A321XLR and other derivatives.
