We travel to one of the unseen locations of Swat Valley. We start our journey from Islamabad at 4 PM. Taking the Peshawar Motorway and then following the Swat Motorway, we reach Bahrain. After having breakfast in Bahrain, we discover hotels that were affected by last year's flood. After spending some time in Bahrain, we move on to our next destination, Mankial.
Mankial is located midway between Bahrain and Kalam, about 300 KM from Islamabad. We reach there in 7 hours, traveling in a Suzuki Cultus model 2021. We park our car in Mankial's parking, which costs 350 Rupees. Without wasting time, we book a jeep for Chukail Banda (Meadows). The jeep ride to Kamar Khwa costs 6k and takes around 2 hours. Despite the bumpy road, the beautiful views make up for the discomfort.
After the jeep ride, we trek for almost 2.5 hours to reach Chukail Meadows. The trek starts alongside a water stream, followed by a steep 70degree hike. It's challenging, but with the right gear like hiking sticks, shoes, sunblock, energy drinks, and food, it becomes manageable. The trek is beautiful, and we even enjoyed cooling mangoes in glacier water—a delightful moment for me.
Upon reaching Chukail Meadows, we are greeted by lush green meadows surrounded by stunning mountains. I flew my drone to capture the beauty of this hidden gem. At midnight, I captured a starlapse and timelapse. However, the camps need improvement as they weren't properly leveled, making it difficult to sleep. Camping costs 3k Rupees.
