Low compensation for evaluators compromises the quality of assessment, while bizarre deductions for rounding off numbers in computationbased questions leave students bewildered. Recent incidents, such as the leakage of MCQs in the CA Final FR paper, highlight the urgent need for reform. Despite calls for change, including agitations in 2019, promises made behind closed doors and the onset of the Covid19 lockdown have led to little progress.
