UP-LIFT-ING: Strong at Any Age!

Greysteel: Fitness After Fifty

What's it like to train for your first powerlifting meet at the age of 92? Find out in this beautiful documentary of Greysteel Athlete John Claassen!

In 2019, John Claassen signed up for a strengthlifting meet in Chicago, where he inspired his fellow athletes, his family, his training partners, and his coach with an outstanding performance in the deadlift. John's example shows us that anybody can get stronger, anybody can be an Athlete of Aging, anybody can live life to the fullest.

This documentary was originally directed by our dear friend Jennifer Mae Watters for Independence Village and released as "Outlifting Life." Jenny Mae recut the film for the Greysteel Channel as "UpLiftIng," and we are deeply grateful to her for documenting John's incredible story.
