Being able to rapidly apply expressive colours opens up a huge range of oppurtunities for urban sketching at home or en plein air.

The refetence photo is from instagram, the challenge is set by the brilliant @katiesbrushandnib and @jal.art377 as part of their #dtiyswithkatieandjanet series.

I thoroughly recommend looking them uo and following them!

I used a sinple waterbrush for thia, perfect for travel painting. The piece is in an A5 moleskin watercolour sketchbook.

The colours used are hansa yellow med, scarlet lake, French ultramarine, pthalo blue, cobalt blue, magenta, burnt sienna.
