Former US President and Republican Presidential nominee, Donald Trump, rallied supporters in Coachella, California on Saturday (October 12). He criticised Vice President Kamala Harris’ home state, bringing up the lack of affordability and struggles with homelessness. Immigration and border security were also major highlights in Trump’s speech. Although Trump is not expected to win California, a state known to be solidly "blue" or Democratic, thousands of supporters showed up in the sweltering heat to support the former president. The former president lost California in a landslide in 2020. He did get 6 millionplus votes, more than any GOP presidential candidate before, and his margins topped 70% in some rural counties that typically favor conservatives on the ballot.
