U.S. Marines conduct an air assault via MV22B Ospreys, flying into a simulated combat zone and executing an infantry bounding maneuver. Then they are extracted on the Ospreys back to base as part of Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 216 at East Tac Airfield in Arizona on April 8, 2016. WTI is a seven week training event hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS1) which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine Corps aviation in support of a Marine Air Ground Task Force. MAWTS1 provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness.
