When a military aircraft heads for home following an airshow, there are a few ways to do it, but if you have the gas and the time, a few flybys prior to pulling vertical certainly leaves a lasting impression on those in attendance. The fine people who run the annual, modern military display in London, Ontario, Canada, have for years, held an unofficial departure show contest for visiting aircrews. The prize for the winning crew would be a great seafood feast of their choice, on the house, the following year if they were able to return, and it become obvious on most post show Sunday and Monday departure days what the pilots had in mind when they fired up. Watch here in London, back in June 1998, as a USAFR KC135E Stratotanker, based at Selfridge ANGB, Michigan, and an USAF/New Mexico ANG F15D Viper from Kirkland AFB, NM, do it right and power their way out of London International Airport for the trip home.
