December 1, 2019. Yorktown, Virginia didn’t know what it had coming. In came a nimble group of men and woman who arrived at Training Center Yorktown with a mission to advance their careers as ThirdClass Boatswain’s Mates in world’s finest seagoing service. Hellions, scamps, brats.. we held all labels. Resilient was the best one though. We were the bunch that would get kicked in teeth while wearing a bloody smile.. From the crater we left, Class 0620 will definitely be remembered at TRACEN Yorktown for millennia. If you don’t believe me ask about us. ...or maybe it’s best that you don’t.

At the end of the day, we represent a long line of history. Expertise in Seamanship, Navigation, Search and Rescue are just crumbs from the cake. A rate with a responsibility so idiosyncratic, a Boatswain's Mate is one that embodies the branch to the utmost degree.
