Several useful facts about Riemann sums and sigma notation will serve us well in this and upcoming sections. Some of these are simple: a constant comes outside of the sigma/sum symbol, for instance. The last three formulas are a little more challenging to remember and work with, and they involve the finite sums of k, k^2, and k^3. We round out the video with two exercises that use the krules for finite sums to evaluate.
