In this video I show how computers favor ethernet connections to wifi, even when the wifi is faster. I show how you can manually favor any network interface you have to force the computer to choose that one. I show if you have wifi favored for internet traffic, you can still simultaneously use your ethernet connection to transfer data.
This situation is needed when having to use a common throttled WAN connection to get internet content to multiple people. Low bandwidth connections are becoming more and more of an issue with increased internet usage. Having the ability to access internet content locally instead of through the WAN would help with this issue by freeing up bandwidth for the use of network drives, voip telephones and intranet functions that need to be on a dedicated VPN circuit.
