Do you know how to use the words for and since to talk about time? For can be used with all tenses, and captures a period of time from start to finish. Since can only be used with perfect tenses, and shows a period that started in the past, and continues to the present.

Examples: I worked at the company for three years. (A period of time from start to finish.)
I have been working with this company since 2016. (2016 is when the period started, and the situation continues to the present.)
