The first modernish battleship of the United States Navy, USS Texas, is the topic of today's video. This was a ship that was, on some level, cursed from the moment she entered the water. A protracted construction period saw her obsolete from her launching, and that did not get better.

A string of mishaps in her early career were enough to label the ship 'cursed', in some corners, though she eventually became a reliable enough ship.

Even so, Texas would ultimately not see out her career with her original name. Renamed to San Marcos, she would be sunk as a target at the dawn of the 1910s. Her name has, however, lived on in the form of the much more famous USS Texas currently in drydock.
