Uthamaputhran 1950 film where sivaji ganesan got into double act (which is based on Alexandar duma's Man in the Iron Mask) had some excellent songs from G.Ramanathan. G Ramanathan, scored music from 19401960 and in this film he gave songs with pure carnatic classical and songs with western beats. That shows how versatile G Ramanathan was.

One such song Yaradi nee mohini, a kind of rap song, also had Hindi actress Helen in cameo role in that song . The song is popular even now.
