Every once in a while, I'll pull out a plastic bin loaded with my old photos. One night a couple of weeks ago, I ran across photos of a Ford Econoline van that I bought and started to customize about 4142 years ago. I really missed that van!! My Jeep JK has kept me busy and I've pretty much gotten everything done to it that I've wanted. I had purchased a Rightline tent for the back of my JK, but after last summer being filled with day after day of torrential downpours, I really wasn't excited to put my butt into a tent & sleep on the ground. I actually had been searching for a van for well over a year. It seemed like everyone was going just as crazy on vehicle prices as they were with land prices. I mean, these things had rusted out rockers, super high mileage and were just so beat up that I could see a ton of money being spent money that I didn't have. Then, out of the blue, I did an internet search and a local car dealership had a black (my favorite color) 2021 Chevy Express 2500 for sale. It must've been a lease vehicle because it only had a little over 50k miles on it and because it had been on their lot for a few months, they knocked $7200 off the asking price. I checked it out, put a deposit on it and a week later I drove it home! In two weeks I'll be 67 and I'm excited as ever to customize this van just like I did with that econoline. Roads trips, overlanding and camping to come!
