Van Zant was a musical duo from America made up of brothers Donnie Van Zant and Johnny Van Zant. They are brothers of Ronnie Van Zant, who was the original lead singer of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. In 1987, Johnny joined the reunited Lynyrd Skynyrd as the lead vocalist, while Donnie led and sang for .38 Special. Van Zant started as a Southern rock band in the 1980s with recordings on Network/Geffen Records before breaking up. Johnny and Donnie brought Van Zant back in 1998 to make two albums for CMC International, then shifted to country music in 2005, making two more albums for Columbia Records as a duo. Their first Columbia album, "Get Right with the Man," included a top ten country hit called "Help Somebody."
