So split charge relay systems are good for a budget build, they allow your alternator to charge up your leisure batteries in your van. However, it's not the most efficient method of charging your leisure batteries.

The best method is to use a DC to DC charger. These take power from the alternator when your engine is running and give your leisure batteries a healthy charge.
