Sen. JD Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz offered opposing views Tuesday on how to stop gun violence in schools.

During the CBS Vice Presidential Debate, Vance urged for more security at schools, saying you "can't take guns out of the hands of bad guys."

"We have to make the doors lock better," he said. "We have to make the doors stronger. We've got to make the windows stronger, and of course, we've got to increase school resource officers."

Walz argued for stronger gun restrictions, noting that both he and Vice President Kamala Harris are gun owners.

"I ask all of you out there: Do you want your schools hardened to look like a fort?" Walz said, adding that there are children in other countries whose schools aren't this way and aren't practicing school shooter drills.
