Henry Ford Hospital’s Dr. Timothy Nypaver, Division Chief of Vascular Surgery, and Deirdre Salanger, Vice President of Operations, recently cut the ribbon to open OR 3, a new stateoftheart hybrid operating room dedicated primarily to vascular procedures. The existing hybrid room, OR 30, is currently undergoing an upgrade renovation to include the similarly advanced capability. Vascular procedures at Henry Ford Hospital grew 20% between 2018 and 2019, with similar continued growth expected. Endoscopic, or hybrid, procedures now make up about 85% of all vascular procedures, with open operations typically reserved for cases where this technology cannot be used.
