We continue our lesson on vasopressors with part 2, covering additional tidbits of information that are good to know when managing patients on these medications.

The lesson starts off covering one of the most confusing parts for new nurses when it comes to managing a patient on vasopressors, and that is all about titrating the drips. We cover some strategies to help to try and give you the intuition that is needed to be able to effectively titrate them.

Then we move on the talk about the line setup. We cover important topics such as labeling your lines and using manifolds instead of Ysites. We also talk about the importance of never flushing a line with vasopressors.

We then move on to talk about central lines and arterial lines and discuss how using both of these are best practice as well a covering some tidbits of information when working with these 2 lines. Finally we talk about the outdate practice of putting your patient in Trendelenberg position.

Our hope is that by the end of this lesson you will have a better grasp of some of these concepts that are very important to know when you have a patient who is on vasopressors.
