As you might have guessed, the Fold 1 is the first folding ebike in Velotric’s lineup. We found that it lives up to its name while offering excellent value and functionality for the bike’s price of just $999.

$1,000 is usually the price point we recommend for a quality ebike, and we’ve seen models in this price range getting better and better in recent years. We expected the Fold 1 to bear a higher price tag based only on its looks and ride quality, making it clearly one of the best in its budget range.

Part of that came down to the bike’s feel. It handled extremely well and felt comfortable to ride, thanks to its wide handlebars, ergonomic rubber grips, and squishy saddle.
