I visit Colonia Torvar, Venezuela's little Germany. The hilltop town near Caracas was settled by German immigrants in the 1800s (so no, not Nazis).
It's more Germanic than some parts of Germany. Only fake Fachwerk blackandwhite houses are allowed here. But do any residents still speak the strange old German dialect of their ancestors? I put their language skills (and mine) to the test.
