Let’s hope you don’t have a fear of heights because in this sketch, we’ll talk about vertigo– where a person experiences a spinning or whirling sensation even if they aren’t actually moving. We’ll explore its peripheral causes such as benign paroxysmal vertigo and Meniere’s disease, and its central causes like stroke and a brain tumor. We’ll get a few “hints” on how to evaluate it using the HiNTs exam, which consists of the Head impulse test, the Nystagmus test, and the Test of skew—to distinguish between central and peripheral origins and guide appropriate treatment.

Sketchy is the #1 visual learning platform brought to you from the creators of SketchyMicro and SketchyPharm. We turn what you need to know for your course prep and exams and into engaging, artful stories that you’ll remember forever. Rooted in an ancient memorization technique called the ‘method of loci,’ The Sketchy Method is proven to accelerate learning, increase retention, and improve test scores. (Trust us, we’re doctors.) Our comprehensive oneofakind curriculum covers everything you need to know to conquer any subject—and have fun while doing it.
