The airblast was VEXU legal under VUR12 as an unmodified commercially available pneumatic component rated for at least 100 psi. It is safe as defined by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 as the noise level produced is under 110 dB, however as a precaution ear plugs were offered to all competitors and referees. It does not violate any other VRC rules, including R4a (below certain pressures) or R17c, as the robot is not actuating any "nonpneumatic device" on the robot. In fact, it is not actuating anything. Additionally, releasing air is a perfectly legal action, see the exhaust ports on cylinders and solenoids.

The 15 inch robots were unable to shoot properly as the tilter mechanism would constantly get jammed. They were also unable to drive straight as the flywheel weight was too heavy, causing the COG to be to the left of the robot, and causing the robot to sink too far into the tiles. This sinking was disastrous for our custom 2" mecanum wheels, which had very little clearance between their roller axles and the ground.
