Million Places One World

Hello Amigas and Amigos in this beautiful day!

Sorry for the delay, I had technical issues with this video. Now it is ready for you to watch.

Long story short, we visited Óbidos. For me, it's not the first time, but my wife and daughter have never been here. We really enjoyed our visit

Stay Tuned!!!

Fact dose about the place:

Óbidos is a charming town and municipality in the Leiria district of Portugal. The town has around 23,000 residents, while the municipality has a population of 11,772, covering an area of 141.55 square kilometers.

In 1755, an earthquake damaged the village walls, several churches, and many buildings, leading to the loss of much of its Arab and Medieval architecture.

Located on the Atlantic coast, Óbidos is close to Caldas da Rainha, Bombarral, Lourinhã, and Peniche. The town, perched on a hill and surrounded by strong walls, features a castle that now serves as a tourist accommodation.

Óbidos attracts visitors for its golf courses at Praia D'el Rey and Royal Óbidos. Every July, the castle hosts a Medieval Market for two weeks, recreating medieval times with flags, performers, stalls, shows, horses, and parades in period costumes. Visitors can enjoy medievalstyle food like roasted meat and soup, served in metal cups and wooden plates.

The town is also known for its many bookstores, including one located in a church, making it a great destination for history, culture, and book lovers.

Real estate in Óbidos is priced at an average of 2,500 euros per square meter for buying and 17 euros per square meter for longterm rentals. Rental prices are high due to the demand for villas in Amoreira and Vau, with fewer apartments available.
