This vintage Rupp CS 2 was a complete restoration using as many of its original parts as possible. It is 98 % original. It is powered by twin vintage West Bend 820 engines rebuilt by Frank Moore of Ohio. It is a true CS2. It was originally "factory" equipped with the third center axle bearing, the CS 1 { Chaparrel Sprint single engine (1) } was not, they were a single engine model, but today with the collector market, some people have added the third bearing to increase there value. Chaparrel's also came with an adjustable seat and steering hoop, a feature not found on other Rupp models. It was also equipped with a full aluminum floor pan and seat back. The "Controlled Torsion" frame was standard. Also standard also was the Uni Mount engine mount system . Chaparrel rear wheels were also equipped standard with spacers to bump out the 410 350 x 5 tires. As it stands this kart is a screamer... depending on the gearing , speeds up to 60 mph or better can easily be achieved.
