On April 7, 2017 the first Virgin America Airbus A321neo performed its maiden flight with takeoff and landing at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport. This was a milestone in aviation history as this was the first A321neo delivered to a customer. It is powered by two CFM International LEAP1A engines.

This video features the RTO (rejected take off test), the takeoff and the landing. Please excuse the bad sound quality caused by the stormy weather conditions.

Virgin America took delivery of this aircraft on 20th April 2017. It is now registered as N921VA.

SInce the purchase of Virgin America by Alaska Air Group, the aircraft is now wearing the Alaska Airlines livery.
