Virgin Australia plane catches fire after take off
Almost 70 passengers are stranded in New Zealand after flames began spurting from the engine of their flight.
The Virgin Australia flight bound for Melbourne was forced to make an emergency landing at Invercargill.
Virgin Australia COO Stuart Aggs released a statement about the event, saying the fire was a ‘possible bird strike on takeoff’.
