We turned our gaze southwards and traveled from Mexico to El Salvador. Our Central American brothers were our guides in the "Little Thumb" of America.

Because of the country's size, everything in El Salvador is close. Our first stop was the Pacific coast, to spend a day at the El Tunco beach in the La Libertad region. After that, we explored the capital, San Salvador, where we enjoyed the historic center.

We hiked up to the summit of the Santa Ana or Ilamatepec volcano, and enjoyed a beautiful sunset by Lake Coatepeque. We immersed ourselves in Salvadoran culture by following the Route of Flowers tourist route.

We finished our trip with a visit to the town of Suchitoto, which has the most beautiful colonial architecture in the entire country, and we learnt about the history of Mayan and Aztec influence in the San Andrés archeological site, the best one in El Salvador.
