Vitamin K is needed to make a protein prothrombin which is responsible for calcium absorption, bone development and blood clotting. There are two types of Vitamin K, K1 is from plant source while K2 is from egg, meat and cheeze. The rich sources of K1 plants are Chard, Spinach, olive oil, brocolli and surprisingly Turnip green. Unfortunately Turnip Greens are not very much used in Pakistan. Additionally Turnip greens are also rich in Vit C, B1, B2,B3,B4,B5, B6, Minerals like Ca, Mn, Fe, Zn and Se. 1 cup of turnip greens gives 117% DV of vitamin K1.
