“It is a critical and ratelimiting cofactor to multiple enzymes involved in this process, including those at the entry points and at critical junctures for the glucose, fatty acid, and amino acid pathways.”

“thiamine availability dictates molecular oxygen homeostasis and mitochondrial ATP production.”

Thiamin dependent enzymes: there are more than the 5 listed.
1. Transketolase
2. Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex
3. 2HydroxyacylCoA Lyase
4. Branched Chain KetoAcid Dehydrogenase
5. AlphaKetoglutarate Dehydrogenase Complex

B vitamins are watersoluble, so they dissolve quickly in the body. Half life 112 hours with approx. 30 mg stored muscle, heart, brain, liver and kidneys which can be depleted in 23 weeks. Or with acute illness it can be depleted in as little as 72 hrs. Absorbed in the jejunum of the small intestine by diffusion.
