鉄道当局は、困惑していました。最近、線路上に大きな箱などが置かれていて、電車の運行に支障をきたすことが多いからでした。踏切たちは、その都度、必死に線路の邪魔ものを取り除いたりしていましたが、時には、危険物もあったりして、その作業は、踏切たちにとって、かなり大きな負担となっていました。しかしその一方で、その線路上の忘れ物のおかげで、助かることもありました。
