Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to SOUTHEND AVIATION!

An offering from Vulcan XM655, bringing the first Avro Vulcan mass rapid start to human hearing in what is thought to be 40 years! XM655, is the youngest complete Vulcan in existence, she resides at Wellesbourne Airfield near StratforduponAvon. She is the only live Vulcan with the larger and more powerful Olympus 301 engines, the others, XL426 and XH558 being fitted with the 201/202 series respectively.

The generous group of volunteers who have spent many long hours on keeping the air frame live have done an outstanding job. Having looked at 655 up close she is no doubt the best looking example of the 3 live Vulcans in the UK. Long may the restoration of Britain's Cold war icon continue for those to see, learn and enjoy.
