It's harder than ever to bond with our kids. Screens have taken over our lives! Entertainment has become so personalized that we aren't sharing as many experiences. Families used to enjoy each other's company to pass the time. Now we all go our separate ways. We're forgetting what it means to connect with one another.

No screens when camping!
When we “go camping,” we’re seeking real experiences, we immerse ourselves in the best reality has to offer. We hike, climb rocks, build campfires, cook good food... Oftentimes these activities require knowledge and some skill thus, opportunities for learning, and at the very least, some good exercise. Accomplishment and exercise in nature is a good recipe for fulfillment! Feeling good about ourselves while we're together builds unity. We laugh, tell stories, and have good conversations about everything you can imagine…our bonds grow stronger, and our family ties strengthen.

When camping in the wilderness, there are plenty of tasks to be done. We try not to make the common mistake of making it a vacation for our kidsthey'll just get bored. We work together as a team to make it an adventure where everyone takes pride in pulling their own weight.

There's something special about camping that allows us to share the best of ourselves! We get relaxed and allow ourselves to be who we are. We get to be our genuine selves and love each other all the more for it. Camping helps us create a timeless bond that will help us through when times get difficult.
