After Tess Eveling (Lucinda Bateson) has discovered both her father's disappearance and the apparent disappearance of his hotel room, she goes to the police where her story is not believed. Frightened and alone in what seems to be a hostile city she walks across Kensington Gardens and discovered she's being followed. Suddenly she remembers the young man Max (Robert Longden) she met on the train and goes to the library and tells him her story...
