** PLEASE NOTE: Whilst much of this walk is done on public bridleway there is no "official" public footpath or right of way over the summits of Watch Hill or Setmurthy Common. Go there at your own risk.
Some of the Outlying Fells described in Wainwright's guide of the same name are no more than a simple stroll this is one of them. Lying just to the east of the town of Cockermouth Watch Hill (Setmurthy Common) is easily access through fields. Hardly exciting but they do provide fine views to the south of many of the main Wainwright fells in the north western region. An ideal walk if you have a couple of hours spare. The walk in the film is a bit of a circular route too instead of the usual "there and back" adventure.
