About: I love the DJI products and the drones. In particular what they can do for helping me to expand my photography abilities. However, I find my self frustrated and concerned with the expense of these drones and the way in which they do not preform as advertised. If they do not "return to home" as they should or if their obstacle sensing doesn't work properly, they become an outrageously priced item. Today, we are talking about the DJI Refresh Fly Away Warranty and how it works along with the cost and potential losses should your drone Fly away. I believe the DJI Refresh plan is a waste of money and the fact that the DJI drones to not always do as promised when flying make them a very expensive loss if they "fly away". The Refresh warranty is not a viable replacement as the cost outweighs the benefits in my view. I want to help you do some math related to what your drone will cost you should you lose it in a fly away incident.
While DJI heavily promotes a flying "worry free" in their marketing and their website, indeed, you should worry if you are flying a DJI drone because if it actually does fly away, even if you have spent money on the fly away program the company offers it's customers, you are going to save about 200 bucks at most compared to buying a new drone, should your drone fly away and not be recoverable.
