Watch This Before You Buy Your First Synthesizer!

Today I want to talk about something that is very near and dear to my heart. When first starting out in the world of electronic music, you'll be very tempted to buy your first synthesizer. However, it is incredibly important to conceive an "end goal" for that piece of gear before you buy it. Are you only purchasing to learn about synthesis? Or do you have plans after you get to know the synth better. What other gear are you going to need to accomplish that goal? Endlessly twiddling knobs is great fun, but it's almost undeniable that you'll eventually want to use those sounds for something more.
