Watercolour Tip from PETER WOOLLEY: The Roaches Revisited

Follow
peterwoolleyartist

In 2004, Peter Woolley's first book, Drawing Towards Watercolour was published, by David & Charles. To accompany the book, a demonstration video was commissioned by the SAA, featuring work filmed on location; Peter and a small camera crew of 2 visited The Roaches, in the Peak District, to explore the processes involved in sketching and painting rocks.

Peter recently revisited The Roaches partly out of nostalgia, but also partly to see how he might reimagine the subject in watercolour after that gap of approximately 12 years. This is the result.

A full set of tutorials on painting rocks are featured in Part 10 of the 'Watercolour for Beginners' DVD series: Painting Mountains
