Waterfalls and Weekend Camping - Oconee State Park

Hiking with Rae

Hey everyone! We went on a recent weekend camping trip to Oconee State Park and decided to explore a couple of waterfalls nearby Yellow Branch Falls and Issaqueena Falls. It had rained the day before, so we were in for a treat both were amazing! Yellow Branch Falls trail is 3 miles total (out and back together is a total of 3 miles). Issaqueena is a very short walk out to view the waterfall, but you can climb down the short steep hill to access the waterfall from the base. There’s quite a bit to explore here, but we didn’t stay long because everyone was hungry.

I forgot to show the dinner meal that was cooking over the fire, but it was campfire casserole. In toil foil add clump of Butter, large slices of fresh potato, green beans (fresh or from a can), raw ground beef, salt, pepper. Close up the toil foil and add to the fire. We only ended up cooking this for about 15 minutes because the embers were so hot.

We also tried out (another) new tent Six Moon Designs Duo Explorer. I got this on sale and wanted to try it mostly because of the large amount of space inside. Honestly it was great!

Hope you enjoy the short video, it was a great weekend trip!
