Since the beginning of a fullscale war, the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk has been knocking out invaders from Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi has repeatedly noted the 59th Brigade in his addresses.
