I wasn’t really convinced that we’ll see a Kindle Color anytime soon, because there have been rumors about a Kindle with a color EInk screen for more than ten years. Amazon even bought a dutch company called Liquavista at one point, which sparked a lot of speculation about a Kindle Color in 2013. But nothing really came off it.

But recently thanks to EInk Kaleido 3 Color EInk has been gaining a lot of traction with some smaller companies like Boox and PocketBook.

Kaleido 3 is the name of the technology that actually for the first time ever in my opinion, made color EInk usable without too many compromises.
