Welcome to our next interview of our What’s Underneath Pride Series, in partnership with Spring Health. Today we sit down with queer couple, model Syd Miller and actor August Black. Trigger Warning: This video addresses the subject of suicide and sexual assault. Viewer discretion advised.
In this interview, Syd and August open up about their intense journey to parenthood as a result of a cryptic pregnancy, the difficulties of being a 'straight passing' queer couple, and the backlash they've faced from their own LGBTQ+ community as a result. They share how being queer has better prepared them to be parents and how their baby Beau brought them purpose and power as a couple and family in a heteronormative world.
