Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth | Matthew 22:1-14

There are many passages where the Bible (especially in Matthew) makes reference to a place where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth.” This place is referred to as “the outer darkness” and it is contrasted with a “feast.” Jesus warns his people that, if we are not ready for the feast, we will be cast into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing teeth. Unlike eternal life, which comes from simply believing in Jesus Christ, it seems as though our actions here on earth determine whether we get to go to the feast or are cast into the outer darkness. We should get ready for Jesus' return by living for Him here and now so that we aren't left out!
